The electronic cigarette to me is the greatest invention since the wheel. I am not making an exaggeration. I sit out on my front balcony every night and find myself speechless at how amazing it is.
It has saved my life, period. In regards to the ban...
Human Rights Act 1998:
Quote:
"Everyone’s right to life shall be protected by law."
Since the loss of life is greatly increased by the absence of a life saving product*, the banning of e-cigarettes is a breach of this act.
*The e-cigarette was invented because it is fact that most smokers cannot quit easily, if at all. Therefore the addiction to tobacco and nicotine is classified as a life threatening condition. It is a physical syndrome, not just psychological.
Claiming it to be one’s obligation to quit, when it is in many cases proven to be very much impossible, is contradictory to the Government's own introduction of other nicotine replacement products for the same purpose. Therefore any products that aid the prevention of this condition are classified as life saving products and by law cannot be made illegal.
Quote:
"Every natural or legal person is entitled to the peaceful enjoyment of his possessions. No one shall be deprived of his possessions except in the public interest and subject to the conditions provided for by law and by the general principles of international law."
Since the e-cigarette comes under the classification of "peaceful enjoyment of one's possessions"*, and that they are not "subject to any condition provided for by law" (that might make them illegal), the banning of e-cigarettes is a breach of this act.
*The banning of the right to refill your previously purchased e-cigarette device is a ban on the right to the peaceful enjoyment of one's possessions.
THE government have zero scientific evidence to prove the product is unhealthy. In fact the FDA's own investigation claimed, that although some brands are imperfect, generally the combination of technology and chemicals in an electronic cigarette are not a threat to the public health.
Besides, in comparison to a cigarette...???? Get a life - you're talking nonsense and you need help.
Banning the electronic cigarette would be the worst mistake any government has ever made.
It's obvious this ban is all bullshit. For example, in the UK, the government want to ban it because it is classified as a "recreational nicotine product", which exempting cigarettes, are already banned! I mean come on - you would have to be as dumb as a donut to not see there was something plainly criminal going on here.
Worse than that, in NZ they are allowed - only NOT with nicotine!? If there was something wrong with them, they wouldn't be allowed in NZ - and so allowing them WITHOUT nicotine?!?!? Come on! How IN YOUR FACE are they? Stand up for your rights!
Give us back our e-cigs - we DO NOT want to die.
Yours sincerely,
Sime Jepps
